A North Carolina native, she attended the high school program at UNC School of the Arts, and later graduated with a BFA in dance performance from SUNY Purchase. As a freelance artist based in NYC, she has had the pleasure of working for David Dorfman, Doug Varone, Kendra Portier, Tara Hemmer, Annie Kloppenberg, Mark Dendy, and Oliver and Teri Steele. As an educator she has been on faculty at Purchase College, The Dance Complex (MA) and Gibney Dance Center teaching contemporary technique, improvisation and partnering classes. Her choreographic work and collaborations have been presented at various festivals including Dixon Place’s Under Exposed, Mark Morris Dance Center’s Shared Space, The Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Brooklyn Ballet's First Look and Slice & Dice at The Joffrey School; and at venues such as The Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center at Gibney Dance, Triskelion Arts, Skidmore College, SUNY Brockport College, The Dance Complex (MA), and the Taipei National University of the Arts in Taipei, Taiwan.

originally from Atlanta, is currently based in the Bay Area. She studied at American University and University of Georgia. In addition to her own dance and video work, Virginia has performed with Rob Esposito, CORE Concert Dance Company, Rebecca Enghauser, Catellier Dance Projects, Hallie Dalsimer, Alison Williams, ALTERNATIVA, and Scott Wells & Dancers. She is a founding memeber of vîv dance company and is currently dancing with Bandaloop.

 

KALA SEIDENEBERG

A Brooklyn-based dancer and early childhood dance educator. She received her early dance training at Academy of Dance Arts and Columbia City Jazz Company in Columbia, South Carolina. Kala earned degrees from Emory University in dance and movement studies, as well as educational studies, in 2012. After graduation, she began her professional career dancing for Staibdance, Catellier Dance Projects, Tara Hemmer, and Emily Christianson, in Atlanta, Georgia, while also teaching dance at the arts non-profit, Moving in the Spirit. She relocated to New York City in 2014, and has since enjoyed teaching and creating with the smallest of dancers at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, JCC Harlem, Mark Morris Dance Center, and in various public schools with New York City Ballet’s in-school dance and literacy program, Ballet Tales. Her choreographic work has been presented by Dance Truck (in a truck!), Spelman College (on a stage!), Emory University, Waxworks, and others. Kala has been dancing with Falcon Dance since fall 2017, and is thrilled to be back in the studio with Tara!
